The Big Day
It was a brisk day in November when we walked into RMA for the retrieval. Hope filled us. We were now more excited than nervous. We had already overcome so much and we were ready for this. For weeks leading up to this day, I had been giving Jenn injections. After the first few times, we both agreed that it was no big deal. But, at first, the injections really freaked us out.
The retrieval went great. The facility was like a well-operated factory. As saddening as it was to see how many others were going through this, we felt comfort because: a) we realized we were not even close to being the only ones this happens to, and b) the staff there does this day-in and day-out with great success.
