Was Adoption an Option?

I was watching a cartoon with Bella this morning where the characters were adopted. That's what led me to remember when Jenn visited her gynecologist shortly after our diagnosis.

I was there to support her. After pouring our hearts out to the doctor in our desire to have a baby, hoping for some guidance, consoling, and reassurance, she went on to talk about her political agendas and how we should skip fertility treatments all together and adopt. In short, she said that was better for the world and we would have no heartache. My wife and I having a baby is not a political matter, thank you very much doc. AND, the heartache already began. Spoken from a person who just doesn't understand and never will.

Jenn found another gynecologist.

Let me say that Jenn and I absolutely think that adoption is a wonderful thing. However, it was our desire to try every option available to have our own biological children before going down the path of adoption. It is a beautiful way to start a family and we would have embraced it if that was part of our journey.
