At RMAPA, Hope Grows on Trees

In tribute to the hope-filled journey to fertility, Reproductive Medicine Associates of Pennsylvania (RMAPA) wanted to give patients a way to stay positive on their journey by seeing a visible reminder of their ultimate goal.

And so, in 2013, the Tree of Hope was born.

The Tree of Hope is a large poster that celebrates the pregnancies of hundreds of RMAPA patients, with each pregnancy represented by a pair of baby feet stamped onto the artwork. Each year, RMAPA doctors and staff choose an inspiring new theme for that year’s tree, with 2019’s being: “There is nothing like a dream to create the future.”

The Tree of Hope – and the act of stamping a pair of baby feet onto the tree – is part of an overall ‘graduation’ celebration for patients who are discharged pregnant, complete with a bag full of goodies for expecting parents and a photograph of their ultrasound.

But the tree is not just for patients who are ready to add their stamp – it is also there for new patients who see it as encouragement throughout their journey.

“Everyone loves it,” said Tara Markovich, R.N. “When our patients see the Tree with all the little baby feet, it not only gives them inspiration on their journey, but also confidence in RMAPA’s ability to help them get pregnant. When pregnant patients stamp their feet, it’s a very emotional rite of passage. They usually take lots of pictures for their baby books.”

Reproductive Medicine Associates of Pennsylvania looks forward to adding your little pair of feet to our Tree of Hope!
