Office Tour

Transcription:

Hello. I’m Dr. Schillings. Welcome to Reproductive Medicine Associates of Pennsylvania. You are now in our waiting room. This is where you will be welcomed by our receptionist. We have three waiting areas for your comfort. We have a general waiting area that is in this direction, we have a separate area for the men, who come for their procedures, and then we have a smaller waiting room for the women, who are awaiting for blood draws. We realize that this is a stressful process going through infertility treatments. We try to make the atmosphere in the office as relaxed and as calming as possible for you. Our next stop will be the area for the blood draws.

When you start the process you may need diagnostic tests. We plan these on certain days of your cycle and we will tell you which days we would like you to come in. When you undergo treatment, sometimes you need blood work more frequently. In fact, when you do in-vitro fertilization, sometimes we do blood draws everyday. All the blood work is done between 7 and 8:30 in the morning.

These are the exam rooms. When you come for your initial consult, typically we will do an ultrasound in this room, as well as a physical exam. We also perform procedures in this room such as endometrial biopsies, saline sonograms and intrauterine inseminations. Also when you’re in treatment cycles, we do morning monitoring with ultrasounds in this room. Those ultrasounds are also performed between seven and eight-thirty in the morning.

This is the consult room. This is where you will come for your initial visit where I can learn more about you and we can can come up with the treatment plan for you. This is the area for the men. This is where they give the specimens. The men can then hand the specimens directly to the lab personnel right across the way. This lab is also where would we prepare the specimens and perform the blood work. I hope that you have enjoyed your tour. This should make you more comfortable the first time you come to our office. Hope to see you soon!
